Treatment Options

As an orthodontist, one of the exciting parts of my profession is being able to offer my patients a variety of modern contemporary treatment options.  Leaps in innovation, learning and technology have to vastly improved orthodontic treatment options.  We strive to stay at the forefront of the orthodontic profession.  New technology is exciting, but I never forget the principles of sound scientific treatment and that the wisdom of the past is best applied in the here and now.  I never adopt a new technology into my practice for the sake of appearance.  I carefully evaluate new treatment options because newer does not always mean better.  It is at the intersection of wisdom, education and innovation that we best serve our patients.

Damon Braces System

Only the word TEST is red and Courier.

Dr. McNutt is a Certified Damon System doctor and has been taking advantage of this technology since 2004.   Damon Braces are often a great choice for adults and teens, and Dr. McNutt uses these braces for most of his patients.

The Insignia System

Insignia is a computerized system that combines digital treatment planning with specially made Damon Braces and arch wires customized to your teeth.

Invisalign For Adults

Dr. Matthew McNutt is a Certified Invisalign and Invisalign Teen Orthodontist.  Invisalign® takes a modern approach to straightening teeth, using a custom-made series of removable clear plastic aligners.  They are virtually invisible and can be taken out to eat and brush your teeth.

Invisalign Teen

Dr. Matthew McNutt is a Certified Invisalign Teen Orthodontist. Invisalign® is high tech alternative to braces and is a great treatment option for many teens, especially those with active and athletic lifestyles.  With school, sports, pictures and even prom, braces may not be the ideal first choice for some patients.

3D Scanning of Teeth

Orthodontists have traditionally used plaster models of teeth in order to carefully evaluate their patients.  In the future, almost all physical plaster models of teeth will be replaced by 3-D digital models on a computer.  Traditionally, plaster models of teeth are obtained by making an impression of the teeth in the mouth with material called alginate.  New technologies are emerging to create  3-D digital models of teeth directly in the mouth with an intra-oral scanner.  In most cases, this technology will replace the need to make alginate impressions, which are often messy and not very comfortable.

Adult Orthodontic Treatment

In our modern world, adult orthodontic care continues to be the fastest growing area in orthodontic treatment.  New technologies that are more comfortable and more efficient have revolutionized orthodontic treatment and as a result adults treatment is becoming more and more common.

Teen Orthodontic Treatment

People of all different ages undergo orthodontic treatment, however, the teen years continues to be the most common time for braces or Invisalign.  As his patients will attest, Dr. McNutt carefully customizes each teen treatment plan to maximize the outcome.  We always begin with the end in mind, and great plan from the beginning allows us to focus our energy on having fun with our teen patients.

Early Childhood Treatment

Early orthodontic treatment usually refers to treatment that occurs when the child has a mixture of baby teeth and some permanent teeth, typically age 8-10.  Treatment at this time is often referred to as Phase I Interceptive Orthodontic Treatment.  Dr. McNutt is very conservative with early treatment, very few of his patients are in braces while baby teeth are still present.
